When There’s Passive-Aggressive Behavior At Home, School, Work And Online, Spot It And Stop It

Even for trained professionals, dealing with passive-aggressive people is always a challenge. We all recognize them: they miss deadlines, throw up roadblocks, promise and procrastinate, all with a smile on their face and soft words denying there is anything amiss. In their newest book, a groundbreaking scientific study, The Angry Smile: The New Psychological Study of Passive-Aggressive Behavior at Home, at School, in Marriage & Close Relationships, in the Workplace & Online, authors Nicholas J. Long, Jody E. Long and Signe Whitson provide important insights about the destructive nature of passive aggression and offer empowering, practical strategies for ending it.

With dozens of real-life examples of passive aggressive behavior in families, schools, relationships, the workplace, and online, The Angry Smile provides step-by-step, dialogue-based guidance for how to recognize, confront, and change this behavior. It’s a realistic road map for transforming hidden hostility into harmonious interactions and improving relationships in the long-term.

The Angry Smile brings together five decades of research and study of passive aggressive behavior. As readers learn the powerful skills of Benign Confrontation, they will begin to recognize the patterns, refuse to engage, discover how to channel and express their own anger appropriately, and more.
