Traveling families this year have faced tremendous challenges due to the pandemic. Some tourist attractions have closed and travel plans have been postponed , delayed or even cancelled this year. The best way Latin Family Now coped with all these changes was to explore in what we call Staycations.
Living in Florida there is a wide variety of tourist attractions and local venues we have access to explore, is very convenient that we found a resort in Kissimmee that gave us a nice stay and a wonderful fall season experience. The Fantasy World Resort came up with Halloween Horrors and Kreepy Carnival- Two great fall activities that all can enjoy on a daily basis regardless if you are staying at the resort or no.
Kreepy Carnival is meant for a younger crowd and is free to attend, is basically a haunted house with some scary animatronics and sets and kids are given candy. Even this one meant for the younger kids and any age group was a bit scary as it is intended to be but good enough for our 3 year old to participate without getting too scared. Besides, she got candy so all kids leave this experience as happy as can be with a candy bag on hands.
Halloween Horrors is a much scarier haunted house, with animatronics and live performers or as we called the live “scarers”. It consists of a walk into a dark room with a maze full of scary surprises and sets. You can tell that the resort has invested a lot of time and money into this experience . Our family got scared and it definitely is something we recommend to do for a safe and scary fun family activity. You can see below a short video of this experience.
Halloween Horrors haunted house is a full production and is meant for older kids and adults it has a cost of 13.02 per adult, and $6.51 per child (12 and under), but if you are a guest at the resort is free from Monday trough Wednesday. We had the opportunity to meet with one of the managers who kindly escorted us into the attraction. All employees and performers treated us with respect and did an amazing job at scaring us.
Fantasy World Resort right off 192 in Kissimmee Florida is one local hidden gem. The pools are amazing, there is a lazy river and two water slides. There is also a quite pool, playground , mini golf, volleyball court and batting area amongst other attractions and amenities. They also offer grab and go breakfast option for guest staying at the villas.
There is a bar by the pool , we don’t do alcoholic drinks but we where able to get our drink vouchers trade off for milkshakes, smoothies and virgin Pina coladas. The bar attendants are friendly and the costumer service of this place gives the place a quality worth the say. Everyone from the moment we walked into the check in to the check out was super courteous and attentive. Even the bingo ladies where the nicest . When I say bingo yes- there are many activities on schedule- we played bingo by the poolside some people won money for it (unfortunately we where not the lucky ones ) but had fun playing. There is also a calendar of activities for all ages including games by the pool, snow cones, glitter tattoos, build a bear and team games amongst other activities, some have a cost , some are free but it gives the guest staying there options of things to do and enjoy besides basking in the sun or pool time.
The accommodations are great. All units are two bedroom, two story villas with full size kitchen, washer and dryer, porch and 2 bathrooms ( one on each floor). The porch has a lounge chair and a patio furniture, great area for a coffee or reading. there is a living room, tv , dining room and internet. The kids where able to do school while on our staycation as well as enjoy the amenities and we adults were able to do some work.
Upstairs we can find the bedrooms, a full bath with a bathtub and washer and dryer. While entering the second floor. We noticed the pieces of art on the wall , and a window with a nice view. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, tv, closet, safety box and theme park related wall art. The second bedroom has two twin size beds a dresser, closet , tv and extra blankets. Is like a home away from home and very comfortable place.
One thing we noticed is that they take safety measures very seriously at the resort and our rooms were spotless clean, there was seals of cleanliness on the dishwasher as well as a seal on the entrance meaning the villa has been disinfected and cleaned, ready for us to enjoy without worries.
